The advantage of using a poly top over a butchers block is cleaning, reliability and price. SFM sell two different type of plastic grade for the poly tops. PE300 which is a softer plastic and is used more on food preparation lines, and PE500 which is harder plastic for use on chopping tables. PE300 is only available in the poly tops which are 2.5cm thick (approx. 1"), whereas the PE500 is available in the 5cm thick (approx.2") and 10cm (approx.4") poly tops. All the poly tops can be purchased with an aluminium frame stand to suit. If you are just purchasing a poly top then it is important to check the exact measurements of your current stand.
